Tours & Guided Hikes
Experience the awe-inspiring magnificence of Grand Canyon. My small group private tours are perfect for any sort of trip to Grand Canyon, whether you're here for a few days or just a few hours! Take a leisurely guided walking tour of the South Rim Trail of Time. Go for a hike, watch for wildlife, and travel through geologic time; I know the best trail. Or perhaps a private tour of the best Grand Canyon viewpoints & historic sites is more your speed.
A hike into Grand Canyon is a bucket list item for many people nowadays. Being prepared and knowing the risks beforehand can make the difference between a cherished memory and a painful or unpleasant experience. Please read the essential information in this section, including trail descriptions and difficulty ratings. Also, consult NPS sources & plan accordingly before committing to any Grand Canyon hike- guided or not.
I've been leading tours and guiding at Grand Canyon for over ten years. My passion is sharing what I've learned and experienced while here at this incredible place. I am committed to sustainable, responsible, and respectful use of our public lands and sacred spaces. I hope to leave every guest with an enthusiastic sense of awe and wonder for the Grand Canyon and to bring to life our shared connection with the natural world.

I offer a variety of tours and step-on guide services at Grand Canyon. There are several options for guided hikes and South Rim tours for small groups. I do not offer bicycle tours, scenic plane/helicopter flights, river float/rafting trips, or overnight backpacking or camping excursions.
Yes! Whether you're doing a Rim To Rim (R2R) hike/run, a backpacking trip down the South Bass, North Bass, Nankoweap, Tanner, Grandview, New Hance, or South Kaibab Trails, or simply need a ride from Flagstaff to the South Rim, I'm your guy.
Tour lengths vary depending on the specific tour. Please check the tour description for more information. I ask guests to allow for at least six hours for guided hikes, but our time on the trail need not be that long if you prefer a shorter trip!
The Trail of Time Tour & Western Rim Trail Tour are pet-friendly, although some indoor locations restrict the entry of pets. I love pets and I wish I could bring my dog everywhere, but they are not allowed on Inner Canyon trails (except for service animals). Unfortunately, that means no pets allowed on guided hikes. Service animals are allowed on Private Half Day and Full Day Tours.
The maximum group size varies depending on the tour. Please check the tour description for specific details. Hiker shuttles are limited to 5 guests.
Yes, I strictly offer private tours. Please plan ahead & book in advance!
Gratuities and tips are not necessary. I strive to maximize the experience for every guest for the price listed. I am a one-man operation but if you must insist, the tip is at your discretion.
For small group tours, I can customize an itinerary to emphasize your interests. For large groups I offer custom step-on guiding services or short interpretative presentations. If you have a special request, send me a message, and I will be sure to get back to you soon!
